Boys' Night Out
Last Friday, Sept. 24. C. Vaughn Leslie & Boys Night Out will be jamming to the best in soul, R&B and Carolina beach music. A regional favorite for over 27 years,BNO has been invited to share the stage with numerous well-known professional acts including Percy Sledge (When a Man Loves a Woman), Archie Bell (Do the Tighten-Up), Barbara Lewis (Baby Im Yours), and Clifford Curry (She Shot a Hole in My Soul).This dance event will feature classic dance videos on the movie screen before the show and during intermission. Videos start at 7:00PM, the band will start at 8:00PM. Free dance lessons with admission by the Knoxville Swing Dance Assoc. Tickets are $12 if purchased online or $15 at the door. For table reservations we recommend reserving early as tables are limited. Students and KSDA are $10.Must show student I.D. at door. This show is BYOB, beer and wine only. $5 per wine bottle or six pack. A Movie Menu featuring drinks and desserts from our coffeeshop, and an appetizer menu from Sullivans Restaurant is available during the show.We do not sell table seats. Tables are a courtesy and are available first come, first serve as normal capacity can be more than available seats. This is a dance event! Broadway: Belters, Ballads & Moore!
Sunday, September 26th at 2:30pm. Local performing artist and teacher, Kathy Moore McDougall and her younger brother, Bruce Moore, return to the Capitol Theatre with a rousing new Cabaret Act.
This dynamic duo grew up in Gettysburg, PA, in a musical family and eventually made their way to Broadway in NYC. Kathy performed in more than 30 musicals regionally to hone her craft playing such diverse roles as Silent Susan in Finnians Rainbow, and Martha Jefferson in 1776 at Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and appearing in a National Tour of South Pacific. On Broadway at the Shubert Theatre she played four different characters (US) in the musical, A Chorus Line (81-89) and had her own Kids Kabaret show in NYC for several years.
Bruce performed in Gypsy, My Fair Lady and Grease on Broadway (89-98) and sang in the chorus for five Disney movies. Some of the songs they will be singing are from the musicals Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Mack and Mabel. This year will also feature a sing-a-long with favorite songs from Beatles to John Legend. Other performers include some of Kathys students from the Van Metre School of Dance as well as some musician friends.

Streamliners Swing Orchestra Halloween Swing & Scream!
Friday Oct. 29. The Streamliners Swing Orchestra are the hottest, swinginest big band around rocking out to hits of the 40s and 50s. Its gonna be a screamin good time for this Halloween show.
